In April 2009, we awarded the first Innovation and Sustainability Award. This award – unique within Switzerland – was introduced in collaboration with Ernst & Young and startups.ch during the START Summit 2009.

With this award START and its partners would like to distinguish and highlight outstanding entrepreneurship in Europe and consequently motivate other young entrepreneurs to follow their ideals.

The emphasis does not only lay on the innovation as such, but also on the sustainability of the ideas. This not only plays a major role considering the actual finance crises, but also regarding the general stewardship of available resources.

The ISA will be awarded on April 29th, 2010 during the START Summit, which takes place at the University of St.Gallen. Preselected startups will have the opportunity to compete for the ISA in front of a jury consisting of entrepreneurs and experts from various sectors on this day.
