START Global announces a Strategic Partnership with Microsoft Switzerland

St.Gallen, Switzerland, October 2018 – START Global is proud to announce its Strategic Partnership with Microsoft Switzerland. The worldwide leading enabler of digital transformation for the era of an intelligent cloud and an intelligent edge shares the same values as START Global by supporting individuals, startups and companies through innovative processes and supporting them to develop disruptive business ideas.

Since START Global has been experiencing exponential growth, the focus on valuable partners in terms of content, know-how and values has become a top priority. This is done with the intention to build long-lasting and impactful partnerships in order to ensure the longevity, relevance and quality of the initiative.

Microsoft Switzerland will support the START Global initiative – especially its flagship event START Summit, the largest student-run technology and entrepreneurship conference in Europe, taking place on the 21st – 22nd of March 2019 in St. Gallen. At START Summit, Microsoft Switzerland will contribute through content within workshops for students and startups as well as educate and inspire participants with keynote speeches. Their goal is to connect with various startups and aspiring founders in the realm of Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, Microsoft Switzerland will contribute to START Hack, which will take place on the 8th – 10th of March 2019 at the University of St.Gallen. START Hack provides a platform for ideas and challenges, addressing specific needs which turn into prototypes by participating coders. With Microsoft’s own cloud computing platform Azure, it perfectly complements START Hack by enhancing the productivity of participants while delivering challenges which will shape future business models. Microsoft’s involvement isn’t merely limited on events but also expands on to educational aspects such as Campus Events at the University of St.Gallen surrounding their technological expertise in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Augmented / Virtual Reality and Cloud Computing. Additionally, Microsoft Switzerland will support the START Accelerator program for early-stage startups from HSG, ETH and ZHAW and assists them to develop their first ideas into a successful business case. By integrating their resources – especially their industry know-how – on to the platform that START Global provides for students, founders, startups, investors, and corporates, Microsoft Switzerland provides valuable input for the entire startup ecosystem.
